Types of Roofs

There are a number of different types of roofs, and each one has its own pros and cons. In this section, we'll take a look at the main types of roofs available in the UK today:

Flat roofs - These are flat surfaces that may be sloped or horizontal, but do not have any pitch to them. They're usually made up of concrete or asphalt shingles with an additional layer underneath for insulation purposes. If you're thinking about installing one in your home, keep in mind that they can be prone to leaks if they're not properly maintained over time i.e., if there are holes or cracks.

Pitched roofs - These include pitched gables, mansard styles which feature four sides meeting at one point, hip-and-valley styles where only two sides meet and many others! They generally come with steep pitches ranging between 30 degrees all the way down into negative territory. While these kinds tend not be as durable as flat ones because they require more maintenance over time due to their complexity; they also offer better protection against rainwater leakage thanks to increased drainage capacity compared against other options such as sloped ones.
